Melbourne Art Class welcomes one of Australia’s most extraordinary abstract artists – David Palliser – to conduct a new course solely dedicated to abstract studio art practice.

This course introduces the key elements and techniques of abstraction for beginner students, and creates space for artists who would like to either revisit the fundamentals or take their exploration of abstraction to the next level.

A wide range of mediums are available, including drawing and painting in acrylics.

The course will explore the following:

  • Colour using collage and paint mixing
  • Positive and negative space as the starting point for an image
  • Intuition, gesture and risk

David has had over twenty solo exhibitions and his work has been acquired by collections such as the Australian National Gallery, National Gallery of Victoria, Artbank, and Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery.
