Camila teaches our Children’s and Teen’s Art Courses and Workshops.

Camila Quintero (MA in Fine Arts from RMIT Australia, BA in Fine Arts from Universidad Nacional Colombia) specialises in painting and drawing.

Maria Camila Quintero was born in Medellín, Colombia, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Camila then travelled to Australia in early 2017 to undertake her Master’s degree at RMIT University in Melbourne, completing her degree with Honours.

Camila has exhibited at the First Site Gallery and Project Space in Melbourne; Art Centre Universidad de Antioquia, Casa 3 patios, Parque de La Vida and the Contemporary Art Museum Bogota MAC in Colombia; and at Fundación La Posta in Spain, among others.

In 2014 she was awarded the Best Thesis Project Of Arts at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, as well as the Nacional Art Residencies Open Call Winner from the Ministry of Culture, Colombia.

More recently, she has been awarded the Mary Oliphant Best Tutorial Award for her project Gut Stories At RMIT University, and the 2019 SITUATE studio residency award at the RMIT SITUATE studios in Melbourne.

Camila has been teaching art to children and teen’s in Melbourne and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Melbourne Art Class teaching team in 2022.
