‘African Animals’ Illustration & Watercolour Half Day Workshop
An illustration and watercolour watercolour with an ‘Animals, Movement and Abstraction’ theme, designed for school children in grades 3 to 8 and taught by Amanda Weatherlake. Amanda is a Melbourne-based artist who specialises in watercolour wildlife illustration.
The workshop focuses on the development of key foundational techniques for illustration and watercolour. The children will be guided and supported whilst creating their own animal characters, a sense of movement and abstractions. Suitable for all skill levels, this class is a good balance of the technical and creative.
Students will experiment with techniques that are discussed and demonstrated during class and will have the opportunity to use them in an artwork they create. Places will be limited to ensure Amanda can offer one-on-one tuition for each student.
Amanda Weatherlake is a practicing artist specialising in watercolour wildlife illustration. She is passionate about creating whimsical images, filled with colour and imaginative compositions. Amanda has Bachelor of Education (Primary) Degree majoring in Visual Art. She has an extensive knowledge of implementing and teaching visual arts with primary school aged children and adults.
