The course takes Melbourne Art Class’s focus on fundamental skills and creates a program suitable for the age group.
Enrolments are capped at ten children. For these children’s classes, teachers generally works with the aid of an assistant. Courses run by the term. To find out more about this course or to discuss your children’s suitability please contact us through the contact page.

Award-winning sumi-e (Japanese Ink) artist, Junko Azukawa has been hosting continuously sold out workshops at Melbourne Art Class for over 4 years and we are thrilled for be able to offer these workshops for kids and teens from January 2022. Sumi-e is the ancient art of Japanese brush painting. Traditionally, paintings feature subjects from nature, such as flowers and birds. There is much more to creating an image during the process of Japanese ink painting; it is also meditative practice.

Teacher and Director of Melbourne Art Class, Marco Corsini, will present a Watercolour Workshop for children to discover and explore watercolour painting techniques. Students will be introduced to basic watercolour painting techniques such as colour mixing, laying washes, colour glazing and lifting out.

Founder and Director of Melbourne Art Class, Marco Corsini draws from his extensive experience in training painters to present a workshop for children about colour and colour theory. Marco will introduce participants to the colour wheel, colour terminology, colour mixing, colour relationships and the use and analysis of colour in artworks. We maintain small class sizes to ensure Marco can offer one-on-one tuition for each student.
