Join our 'Reptiles and Birds' illustration and watercolour workshop, designed for students in Grades 3 to 8. Taught by Melbourne-based artist Olivia York, this creative journey explores the world of watercolour and illustration techniques, inspired by Australiana. Students of all skill levels will have the chance to create their own reptile and bird characters, striking a perfect balance between technical development and creative expression. Limited spots ensure personalised guidance from Olivia, making it an enriching experience for young artists to bring their imagination to life through art.

Half Day Workshop
An illustration and watercolour workshop with a ‘Reptiles and Birds’ theme, designed for school children in Grades 3 to 5 and taught by Olivia York, a Melbourne-based artist and illustrator who specialises in watercolour and Australiana illustration. During this workshop Olivia will guide students through the making of an illustration of reptiles and birds. She will demonstrate some of the techniques she uses in various media including watercolour and colour pencil.
The children will be supported whilst creating their own reptile and bird characters. Suitable for all skill levels, this class is a good balance of the technical and creative.
Students will experiment with techniques that are discussed and demonstrated during class and will have the opportunity to use them in an artwork they create. Places are limited, therefore Olivia can offer one-on-one tuition for each student.
Olivia York is a Melbourne-based artist, illustrator and Australiana enthusiast. She specifically creates witty and whimsical watercolour illustrations, inspired by our Australian flora and fauna. Thus her illustrations have so far adorned food trucks, feature walls, children’s books, clothing, packaging and homewares.
Her products have been featured in several tv shows, books and magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, Frankie magazine and Koala (Thames & Hudson). Olivia has collaborated with such brands as House, Lalaland, Nutella and Auspost.
