Under The Sea Character Illustration Workshop

In this comprehensive course, students will explore the fundamentals of sketching animals, watercolour, and gouache painting, as well as illustration techniques with the expert guidance of Olivia York.

Students will actively begin with the exploration of sketching, watercolour, and gouache techniques. Subsequently, they will shift their focus to creating unique ‘Under The Sea’ characters and landscapes.

Olivia is fully committed to nurturing the creative talents and technical abilities of students at all skill levels. With a perfect blend of active technical guidance and creative freedom, this class offers a great balance for young artists. Additionally, class sizes will be limited to ensure Olivia provides one-on-one instruction for each student.

Olivia York is a Melbourne-based artist and illustrator, with a passion for Australiana. She creates witty and whimsical watercolour animal characters, which have been featured in books, packaging, homewares and even a food truck.

Her products have been featured in several tv shows, books and magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, Frankie magazine and Koala (Thames & Hudson). Olivia has collaborated with such brands as House, Lalaland, Nutella and Auspost.

Join our 'Reptiles and Birds' illustration and watercolour workshop, designed for students in Grades 3 to 8. Taught by Melbourne-based artist Olivia York, this creative journey explores the world of watercolour and illustration techniques, inspired by Australiana. Students of all skill levels will have the chance to create their own reptile and bird characters, striking a perfect balance between technical development and creative expression.
