5 day Painting Course with Marco Corsini

MAC Founder Marco Corsini will be offering an enriching and comprehensive oil painting course designed specifically for begginer to intermediate painters. In this course, Marco Corsini will impart his expertise and guide budding artists through the fundamental stages of creating captivating oil paintings.
Students will delve into a wide range of oil painting techniques, gaining hands-on experience. By working from various subjects, including still life compositions, photographic images and plaster casts. Marco Corsini’s teachings will provide a holistic understanding of the art form, covering not only the practical aspects but also the historical developments, diverse styles, and intricate technical facets of oil painting.
One of the highlights of the course is the exploration of classical underpainting and of glazing techniques. These traditional methods have been favoured by renowned painters throughout history, and Marco will help students grasp the nuances and secrets of these time-honoured techniques.

Marco Corsini (B.Ed. MCA Uni Melb/VCA) is a landscape and figure painter and the founder of Melbourne Art Class. He has led creative programs for companies such as Coles, Officeworks and Google and exhibited locally and internationally.

This course will incorporate some drawing principles as a foundation for painting however you may want to consider the following one day workshop beforehand, which will take place on Melbourne Cup Day, 2024.

Sumi-e is the ancient art of Japanese brush painting. Traditionally, paintings feature subjects from nature, such as flowers and birds. Melbourne Art Class welcomes award-winning sumi-e artist, Junko Azukawa to host a three-hour Japanese ink painting workshop.
