There will be a focus on exploring ways of representing and interrupting three-dimensional form. These include the understanding of structural elements and use of light and shadow. Participants will work from Still life and also have the opportunity to draw from traditional Plaster casts.

Join us for an enriching school holiday workshop, Observational Drawing Workshop, where students will embark on a creative journey designed to enhance their observational drawing skills. Working with Michelle Zuccolo, an award wining artist to build confidence in drawing from life.

There will be a focus on learning techniques exploring ways of representing and interrupting three-dimensional form. These include the understanding of structural elements and the use of light and shadow. Participants will work from Still life and also have the opportunity to draw from traditional Plaster casts.This is a chance for young artists to immerse themselves in a creative adventure, developing their skills and artistic vision in a setting that mirrors a professional artist’s studio.

Classes will be restricted to about ten places to ensure one-on-one tuition

This workshop will be taught by experienced artist and teacher Michelle Zuccolo. Michelle is a recent winner of the prestigious Rick Amor Self Portrait Prize. She has also been a finalist in the British Portrait Award, London, Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Portia Geach Memorial Award, 2020 Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize and Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize. Her drawings have been included in the Rick Amor Drawing Award, the 7th Drawing Biennale, Drill Hall, ANU, Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing and Mornington Peninsula Spring Drawing Festivals.

Michelle has a MA (Visual Arts) from the University of Ballarat, a BA (Fine Art) from Victoria College of Art and Design and a DipEd from Melbourne College of Advanced Education. Michelle has over twenty-five years teaching experience at various levels of education including secondary schooling, tertiary levels and in community art programs.
