Introduction to Portraiture Drawing School Holiday Workshop

  • Date: Thursday 23 January 2025
  • Time: 9:30pm – 12:30pm (3 hours)
  • Location: Glenferrie Studio | Level 1, 817B Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn
  • Course fee: $135 inc. GST

 

During this hands-on Introduction to Portraiture Drawing workshop, participants will explore the process of drawing portraits under Camila’s expert guidance. Students will learn essential techniques and principles that will help them capture the human face on paper.

Students will start with the basics of drawing, focusing on how to observe and sketch what they see from a plaster cast. They’ll also learn about the basic principles of portrait drawing, including understanding facial proportions and creating depth and volume to make their portraits look lifelike. The later part of the workshop will be spent working from a live model.

This workshop is perfect for students in Grades 5-8 who are interested in art and drawing, whether they are beginners or have some experience.

To maintain a high-quality learning experience, each workshop will offer limited spaces, allowing Camila to provide valuable one-on-one instruction for every student.

Camila Quintero (MA in Fine Arts from RMIT Australia, BA in Fine Arts from Universidad Nacional Colombia) specialises in painting and drawing.

Maria Camila Quintero was born in Medellín, Colombia, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Camila then travelled to Australia in early 2017 to undertake her Master’s degree at RMIT, completing her degree with Honours.
