Originating in Japan, Manga refers to a unique and influential style of comics and graphic novels that has captivated audiences worldwide.
During this workshop, artist and teacher Rina Kondakova will introduce students to the history of Manga before delving into the fundamental elements of Manga and its accociated techniques. You’ll learn how to develop your own original Manga characters and gain confidence in your drawing practice
About Rina
Rina is a current Bachelor of Fine Arts and Education student who specialises in Manga style illustration and portraiture painting. She received the 2018 Black SwanYouth Portraiture Prize (1st place) and has been a ACMI Top Screen award (finalist), and was one of 16 artists selected for the 2021 National Gallery of Australia summer art scholarship.
To ensure the best learning experience, our short courses have limited availability, allowing Rina to provide personalised one-on-one instruction to each student. This tailored approach ensures that every participant receives the individual attention they need to flourish in their Manga artistry.
