Mixed Media Workshop (drawing, painting & collage)
During this engaging workshop, artist and tutor Ilona Kiss will introduce children to a diverse range of media, techniques and processes for making a street art inspired artwork. She will demonstrate the use of drawing, painting and collage in a mixed media context. Participants will be able to make unique artworks exploring creative processes whilst drawing inspiration from artists and illustrators.
Participants will engage in following techniques:
– drawing (line, shape and colour)
– experimental painting (creating backgrounds)
– collage and layering
Ilona will also draw on her experience as a professional artist to feedback regarding participants’ individual styles and creative inclinations. Students will experiment with techniques that are discussed and demonstrated during class and will have the opportunity to use them in an artwork they create.
A one and half hour structured workshop will be followed by a break and then a further 75 minute studio art style session will continue, whereby children will be encouraged to explore the making of their own artwork. Places will be limited to ensure Ilona can offer one-on-one tuition for each student.
Ilona Kiss is a Swiss born contemporary artist based in Melbourne whose work includes drawing, painting and collage. She has an MA in Fine Art from the Manchester Metropolitan University and has taught in both Primary and Secondary School settings. She is presented by Paper Gallery Manchester.
