Teen’s Drawing Workshop

  • Date: Tuesday 12-April, 2022
  • Time: 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Location: MAC Glenferrie Studio, 817B Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn
  • Course fee: $95 inc. GST

Experienced artist and tutor Ilona Kiss will draw on her experience of working with beginner artists to set the foundation for a new way of seeing and drawing from life. Teens will explore fundamental techniques and tools and refine their drawing skills.

Students will be working from Still Life beginning with Structural drawing, then moving to working with Tone.

Charcoal, paper and easels will be provided. This workshop will be limited to ten places to ensure Ilona can offer one-on-one tuition for each student.

Ilona Kiss is a Swiss born contemporary artist based in Melbourne whose work includes drawing, painting and collage. She has an MA in Fine Art from the Manchester Metropolitan University and has taught in both Primary and Secondary School settings. She is presented by Paper Gallery Manchester.

Students will be introduced to basic watercolour painting techniques such as colour mixing, laying washes, colour glazing and lifting out.

Teenagers will have the opportunity to explore art activities that encourage spontaneity, playfulness and imagination in a safe and inclusive environment.  All activities have a focus on the creative process and freedom of expression instead of an end-product.
