This course is studio-based art class presented by artist Sam Leach, winner of the Archibald Prize and Wynne prize.
Our studio-based art class offers a unique blend of personalized tuition and a dynamic curriculum comprising concise presentations. Designed for individuals passionate about honing their observational skills and fundamental artistic techniques, our program fosters creativity while focusing on skill development.
Spanning a broad spectrum of mediums, including drawing and painting in oils and acrylics, our class caters to diverse artistic preferences. Whether you’re an aspiring artist seeking to delve into a specific project or a complete beginner taking the first steps in your artistic journey, our inclusive environment welcomes all skill levels.
For newcomers, Sam provides a structured approach, guiding through the foundational aspects of drawing and painting. This introductory phase aims to familiarize beginners with essential techniques, setting a solid groundwork for their artistic exploration within the class.
Our curriculum operates on a term-based schedule and extends its invitation to students from secondary school age onwards. The flexible nature of our sessions allows participants to explore their artistic aspirations within a supportive community, fostering both individual growth and collaborative learning experiences.

Included in the course fee are basic materials essential for the initial stages of the program. However, we encourage ongoing students to assemble their materials kit to further their artistic endeavours. Detailed materials lists are available to assist students in preparing for their ongoing artistic journey.

Our studio-based art class for Adults & an opportunity to develop your contemporary painting practice in this class with Sam Leach. In 2010, Leach famously won both Wynne and Archibald Prizes at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. His work has been extensively exhibited nationally and internationally.

We welcome all skill levels in this class – from complete beginners, or focused artists pursuing a project. For beginners, Marco will initially use a more structured approach that covers the fundamentals of drawing and painting.
