The course starts with structural drawing, where you’ll capture intricate details from still life subjects. Progress to working with tone to master light and shadow. Explore expressive drawing to nurture your creativity and style.
We provide essential materials for your artistic journey, including charcoal, high-quality paper, and easels. However, if you have preferred tools, feel free to bring them along to make the experience truly your own.
Whether you’re just commencing your artistic journey or seeking to revisit and strengthen your drawing fundamentals, this workshop is open to all. We limit the class size to ensure personalised instruction, fostering an environment where you can receive individualised guidance and support. Students will be introduced to basic gouache and watercolour illustration techniques including colour mixing, laying washes, colour glazing and lifting out, to set the foundation for watercolour painting. Olivia will also discuss the basic materials and equipment of watercolour such as a selection of basic colours in pans or tubes, brushes, watercolour papers, palettes and accessories.
