Feedback from our Life Drawing students
“Michelle was a very encouraging teacher and was able to show us how to improve our work. Great content. Good models. I liked the emphasis on hands and face as well as whole body with its muscles and skeleton. Really impressed with Michelle. I usually arc up when I am told what to do. Michelle made everything palatable and exciting. She showed us relevant books before the sessions and gave us time to develop our works. Time flew. I particularly like her efforts to re-set the model after a rest so that we could continue with the pose.” – Dee, 2018
“I would definitely recommend the course to others. I like the environment, the mix of practical and theoretical. The tone is welcoming rather than intimidating for a beginner such as myself. I appreciated the way Michelle structured the course so that there was a specific focus each week and adapted the length of the poses to the needs of the class. I found the examples from texts that Michelle provided were a useful way of exploring different techniques and approaches. I also liked the way Michelle acknowledged growth and success at different levels.” – Fiona, 2018
“A good duration of the course (learnt a variety of techniques within this time period), and had one-on-one assistance which further developed my skill set.” – Rachel, 2017
“I loved this course as it pushed me to experience something new and practice tasks that I hardly choose to do on my own.” – Mehran, 2016
“I have now completed 5x courses with Jesse and most certainly will again. I particularly enjoy Jesse’s attention to detail, observations and feedback. Always encouraging. I’m interested in ‘line’ and regularly I tighten up and lose my way. My drawing looked stiff and stilted. Recently Jesse suggested I play with tone, only. No line. Very difficult and frustrating and at the end of the night I had nothing that I valued. It felt and looked clumsy. But, Jesse pointed to some encouraging signs and I am happy (mostly!) to follow this important path and see where it takes me. It will expand my vision and repertoire. I can always return to line.” – Ian, 2016
