Michelle Caithness

Michelle Caithness (MA; Visual Art, Coursework) Monash University. BA Fine Art (Drawing) Victoria College, Prahran. Grad.Dip.Ed. Hawthorn Institute, Melbourne.

Michelle has continued her studio and exhibition practice since graduating in 1990, including over 16 group and solo exhibitions.

Recently, Michelle’s drawings featured at Charles Nodrum Gallery in September 2017; Clive Murray-White/Michelle Caithness: a Collaboration.

In April 2017 Michelle held a solo exhibition as part of her Arthur Streeton Residency at Queenscliff Gallery and Workshop.

Her teaching experience includes Tertiary, Secondary and Community Art settings.

Michelle has more than ten years of experience working with the sale and demonstration of art materials and several unique work projects restoring church interiors.

Michelle’s art practice is based in Drawing and Painting, from observation as well as other resources. Photography is a passion and also informs her work. Michelle uses traditional art materials but also enjoys experimenting with various media. Her subjects include the figure and landscape.
