Our Studio Art Courses are the foundation of Melbourne Art Class. In these classes you have the freedom to work on your own projects, or our Still Life display with guidance from an experienced teacher and professional artist.
Award-winning Japanese Ink (sumi-e) artist and teacher, Junko Azukawa, will guide you through painting four traditional images that contain the basic strokes that every sumi-e artist masters: The Four Gentlemen.
Join us for this unique opportunity to observe and paint alongside one of Australia’s great, award-winning artists – Graeme Drendel. For the duration of the course, you will paint a portrait of one of our life models.
Director of Melbourne Art Class, Marco Corsini, will present a watercolour workshop exploring basic watercolour painting techniques such as colour mixing, laying washes, colour glazing and lifting out.

Melbourne Art Class welcomes one of Australia’s most extraordinary abstract artists – David Palliser – to conduct a workshop series about working in abstraction.
This is a technical course where you will be drawing or painting, mostly from two Life models. You will be introduced to the process and fundamentals of portraiture painting.
A class to establish and explore the fundamentals of painting by working from Still Life. Your teacher will combine live painting presentations with personal tuition.
