This short course in drawing and painting over three days will enable students to begin to draw or paint or improve their technique.

 The drawing/painting intensive combines a series of presentations with personal tuition in drawing and painting. An emphasis is placed upon working from observation and the development of sophisticated technique.  Students will draw or paint from a still life over three days. Acrylic paints are being used to facilitate a faster drying time however if a painter with some experience prefers oils, this is possible.This class is open to students from secondary school age onwards.

Some aspects covered are:

Drawing and composition

Underpainting

Effective use of translucent and opaque paint

Representing form, space and texture

Colour mixing

Colour and its relationship to composition and form

Efficient work practices and processes

The short course will be over three days

Monday, December 29th, 9.30 am – 3.30 pm

Tuesday December 30th, 9.30 am – 3.30 pm

Wednesday December 31st. 9.30 am – 3.30 pm

(3 x 6 hr. sessions)

Location: Enderby Hall (via the courtyard behind the Uniting Church Street
