About Art Therapy: Art therapy is for self-exploration, as no-one else can interpret your artwork; only you know what you think and feel and express through the art. Art Therapy is for creative and personal expression, well suited to anyone who wants to slow down and connect with their inner self, with others and with their surroundings. No creative ability is required for Art Therapy, and you do not require any prior art making knowledge or experience.

About ‘StART: Creative Spark’: Getting started with art making can be hard and often we can get stuck along the way. During this course participants are able to deeply engage with their personal art making process and explore ways to get into the creative flow and untangle from a creative block.

Participants get to recognise the voice of their inner critic and at the same time nurture the voice of free expression to balance the ever present judging commentator in everyone’s minds. The focus is on the creative process rather than the outcome and there will be a welcoming, inspirational and safe space to explore the beauty of creating with our hands.

Feedback from previous Art Therapy students

“I really enjoyed the Time to Stop – Art Therapy course by Jaana Sahling. Jaana helped create a safe space to reflect on the day each week, providing great prompts and a clear structure to allow for open creativity and exploration. The set up and materials provided were extensive and I ended up creating works that I didn’t think I would make but that I really enjoyed making and was proud of. It was an unexpectedly freeing class to be creative without pressure of a specific outcome but allowed for some beautiful and meaningful pieces to emerge. I highly recommend this course and would say to come with an open mind and trust the process. Thank you for a wonderful course!” – Anna, 2021
