Michelle teaches our Teenager’s Studio Art Class.
Michelle Zuccolo has a MA (Visual Arts) from the University of Ballarat, a BA (Fine Art) from Victoria College of Art and Design and a DipEd from Melbourne College of Advanced Education.
Michelle has over twenty-five years teaching experience at various levels of education including secondary schooling, tertiary levels and in community art programs. She is currently teaching the International Baccalaureate.
Her drawings have been included in several national prizes, including three times finalist in the prestigious Portia Geach Memorial Award, five times in the Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing, twice in the Spring Festival of Drawing, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, twice in the ARC Yinnar Drawing prize and the Castlemaine State Festival Dominique Segan Drawing Prize. She has been represented in the Australian 7th Drawing Biennale held at Drill Hall.
Michelle also won the 2019 Rick Amor Self Portrait Prize with her self portrait Augury.
Michelle was a recipient of the ISS Italian Services Institute International Fellowship in 2013, and studied classical and medieval art forms in Italy and Austria. Her work is underpinned by an interest in the human psyche, expressed in related portraiture paintings, life drawing and sculpture.
