Our School Holiday Workshops vary each school holidays, giving children and teen’s a chance to try something new or deep dive into technique. Join us for our fun and engaging workshops with experienced artists and teachers guiding your creativity!

 

Artist and MAC teacher Camila Quintero will work with participants to set the foundation for a new way of seeing and drawing from life. Children will explore fundamental techniques and tools and refine their drawing skills. Students will be working from Still Life beginning with structural drawing, then moving to working with tone.

An illustration and watercolour watercolour with an 'African Animals' theme, designed for school children in grades 3 to 5 and taught by Amanda Weatherlake, a Melbourne-based artist who specialises in watercolour wildlife illustration. The workshop focuses on the development of key foundational techniques for illustration and watercolour. The children will be guided and supported whilst creating their own African Animal characters. Suitable for all skill levels, this class is a good balance of the technical and creative.

Children's Japanese Ink Workshop

Award-winning sumi-e (Japanese Ink) artist, Junko Azukawa has been hosting sold out workshops at Melbourne Art Class for over 4 years and we are thrilled for be able to offer these workshops for children from January 2022. Sumi-e is the ancient art of Japanese brush painting. Traditionally, paintings feature subjects from nature, such as flowers and birds.

An illustration and watercolour workshop with a 'Reptiles and Amphibians' theme, designed for school children in Grades 3 to 5 and taught by Rachael Hammond, a Melbourne-based artist who specialises in detailed illustrations of animals. During this workshop Rachael will guide students through the making of an illustration of reptiles and amphibians. She will demonstrate some of the techniques she uses in various media including watercolour and colour pencil.

This is a digital illustration workshop with a 'Reptiles and Amphibians' theme, designed for school children in grades 5 to 7. Drawing Bootcamp learn to draw

Three unique drawing workshops for Teens will be taught by artist, teacher and MAC founder, Marco Corsini.  Students will be introduced to powerful drawing techniques that will be of great benefit to developing artists. With a focus on the perception of a three-dimensional world, these intensive are designed to train your brain to see.

Children will explore Manga techniques with artist Rina Kondakova. Rina, who specialises in Manga style figurative art will guide children through the key elements of constructing a Manga image. Participants will also be introduced to key techniques used in the style and will be given an appreciation for the historical development of Manga.
