During, Abstraction: Colour Shape and Line through Kandinsky and Klee, you will explore how through careful pictorial arrangement, colour can suggest mood, line can create movement and energy, and shape can establish balance, tension, or harmony within a composition.

For beginners, Marco will initially use a more structured approach that covers the fundamentals of drawing and painting.

Melbourne Art Class welcomes award-winning sumi-e (Japanese Ink) artist, Junko Azukawa to host a 2.5-hour Japanese ink painting workshop. Sumi-e is the ancient art of Japanese brush painting. Traditionally, paintings feature subjects from nature, such as flowers and birds.

Melbourne Art Class offers private artist coaching and mentoring for those with a busy schedule, or who want to work outside of our scheduled classes in a one-on-one environment. For remote or international students, these sessions can be undertaken using Zoom.

This is a specialised course in painting and drawing which focuses on the development of foundational techniques, combined with a mentoring style support for children producing their own artwork. These classes are for students who are interested in creating outside of regular school hours and would like to further develop their artistic skills. We aim to nurture our students’ natural artistic ability and interests, whilst also teaching the fundamentals of art practice.
