Our studio-based art class for Adults & an opportunity to develop your contemporary painting practice in this class with Sam Leach. In 2010, Leach famously won both Wynne and Archibald Prizes at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. His work has been extensively exhibited nationally and internationally.

Melbourne Art Class welcomes leading Australian contemporary abstract artist Samara Adamson-Pinczewski to conduct an introductory course solely dedicated to abstract art practice. This course introduces the key elements and techniques of abstraction and will help beginner students, and artists who would like to revisit the fundamentals.

Thursdays, 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm - Glenferrie Studio
Students will be introduced to basic gouache and watercolour illustration techniques including colour mixing, laying washes, colour glazing and lifting out, to set the foundation for watercolour painting. Olivia will also discuss the basic materials and equipment of watercolour such as a selection of basic colours in pans or tubes, brushes, watercolour papers, palettes and accessories.

This is an introduction to watercolour and gouache short course taught by Olivia York, a Melbourne-based artist and illustrator who specialises in watercolour illustration.
Olivia will introduce students to key foundational techniques for using gouache and watercolour media. Olivia will offer personalised assistance informed by the participants individual illustration goals.
