Establishing a painting practice? Then imagine a weekly studio environment focused entirely on contemporary painting—exploring its practical contexts, practice, and techniques. This course offers a unique blend of theory and hands-on studio practice, providing a dynamic learning experience. The studio sessions feature personalised tuition alongside a series of concise presentations, creating an engaging environment for artistic growth.
Located in MAC’s state-of-the-art Union St, Armadale studio, the studio-based art class for adults welcomes participants to experiment with a variety of mediums, you can bring your own preferred tools or use the materials provided. The course operates on a school term basis, offering a structured yet flexible schedule that caters to students from senior secondary school age and beyond.

The program is a studio-based class that mixes personalised tuition with a program of short presentations. A wide range of mediums are available, including drawing and painting in both oils and acrylics. It would be suitable for anyone who is interested in a class that develops observational skills and fundamental artistic skills while maintaining a degree of flexibility for creativity.
We welcome all skill levels in this class – from complete beginners, or focused artists pursuing a project. For beginners, Marco will initially use a more structured approach that covers the fundamentals of drawing and painting.
