Students will be introduced to basic watercolour painting techniques such as colour mixing, laying washes, colour glazing and lifting out, to set the foundation for watercolour painting. Ilona will also discuss the basic materials and equipment of watercolour such as a selection of basic colours in pans or tubes, brushes, watercolour papers, palettes and accessories.

Lovers of traditional Japanese art will be familiar with the red stamp or seal often seen on paintings or documents. This seal is used in place of a signature and forms an important part of traditional Japanese culture.
