This Introduction to Painting course works with oil paints and all materials are provided. Places are limited to ensure one-on-one tuition.
This course will be taught by experienced Artist and Teacher David Hamilton. David has a wealth of experience to share with Melbourne Art Class students. David has a long teaching history at RMIT and Monash University and has had an impressive career as an artist for over 30 years. David’s courses at Melbourne Art Class are always well received with students enjoying David’s calm nature and willingness to share his knowledge.

Sumi-e is the ancient art of Japanese brush painting. Traditionally, paintings feature subjects from nature, such as flowers and birds.

Melbourne Art Class welcomes award-winning sumi-e (Japanese Ink) artist, Junko Azukawa to host a three hour Hanko Seal Carving workshop. Lovers of traditional Japanese art will be familiar with the red stamp or seal often seen on paintings or documents. This seal is used in place of a signature and forms an important part of traditional Japanese culture.
