Melbourne Art Class has three studio locations in Hawthorn (‘Glenferrie Studio’ and ‘Elgin Studio’) and Richmond (‘Enderby Studio’). Your booking confirmation email will confirm which studio your class or course will be held at. Please see below for further details regarding finding and accessing our studios.

‘Glenferrie Studio’ (Hawthorn)

Level 1, 817B Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn

Entry to Level 1, 817B is via the laneway (Moticella Place) about 50 metres south of the Barkers Road and Glenferrie Road intersection. Please enter the door and go up the flight of stairs. If the door is locked, please use the doorbell.

‘Glenferrie Studio’ (Hawthorn) Parking

Free parking (see image below for more detailed information)

  • Barkers Rd: There is some unlimited, free parking on Barkers Road. The clearway finishes at 9:30am and most classes start after this time.
  • Glenferrie Rd: There are 1P parking spots on Glenferrie Road. Students who drive usually move their cars during class and this is not a problem at all.
  • Hawthorn Gv & Xavier Av: There are 2P parking spots on both Hawthorn Grove and Xavier Avenue. Students who drive usually move their cars during class and this is not a problem at all.

Public Transport

Tram

  • Route 16: This tram runs from Melbourne University to Kew. Get off at Johnson St/Glenferrie Rd stop and it is only a 2 minute walk to the studio.

Train

  • Glenferrie Station: Take the Lilydale, Belgrave and Alamein train lines and get off at Glenferrie Station. It is only an 8 minute walk to the studio, but you can also catch a connecting tram (see above) to make the walk a bit quicker.

‘Elgin Studio’ (Hawthorn)

Level 1, 73 Burwood Road, Hawthorn

Entry to the Elgin Studio is from the side of the building, on Elgin Street, at the intersection of Burwood Road and Elgin Street. Please enter the side door and go up the flight of stairs to Level 1.

‘Elgin Studio’ (Hawthorn) Parking

Free parking

  • St James Park: There is some unrestricted parking just down the road surrounding St James Park. It is then about a 5 minute walk to the studio from here.
  • Burwood Rd: There is free parking on Burwood Road ranging from 1P to unlimited depending on time of day. Please take note of signage and clearways.

Public Transport

Trams

  • Route 75: This tram runs from Vermont South to Docklands. Get off at Hawthorn Railway Station/Burwood Road stop and it less than a 1 minute walk to the studio.
  • Route 48: This tram runs from Balwyn North to Docklands. Get off at Hawthorn Bridge/Bridge Rd stop and it is only a 10 minute walk to the studio, or you could transfer to the Route 75 Tram as above to make the walk a bit quicker.

Trains

  • Hawthorn Station: Take the Lilydale, Belgrave or Alamein and train lines and get off at Hawthorn Station. It is a 2 minute walk to the studio from here.

‘Enderby Studio’ (Richmond)

314 Church Street, Richmond

Enderby Studio is located in the courtyard behind the Uniting Church, entry from Darlington Parade. Please be mindful of others, as this is a shared space.

Free parking

  • There is 2-hour free parking on Darlington and Church Streets. Students who drive move their cars once during the class and have had no issues at all.

Paid parking

  • There is also a carpark at the Coles Shopping Centre on Bridge Road which offers paid, longer-term parking, and is only a 10 minute stroll from us.

  • Route 78: This tram runs from North Richmond to Balaclava. Get off at the Abinger St/Church St stop and it is only a 1 minute walk to the studio.
  • Route 75: This tram runs from Vermont South to Docklands. Get off at Church St/Bridge Rd stop and it is only a 3 minute walk to the studio.
  • Route 48: This tram runs from Balwyn North to Docklands. Get off at Church St/Bridge Rd stop and it is only a 3 minute walk to the studio.
  • Route 70: This tram runs from Wattle Park to Docklands. Get off at the Church St/Swan St stop and it is only a 7 minute walk to the studio.

Trains

  • East Richmond Station: Take the Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein, and Glen Waverley train lines and get off at East Richmond Station. It is only an 8 minute walk to the studio.
  • Richmond Station: Take the Alamein, Belgrave, Cranbourne, Frankston, Glen Waverley, Lilydale, Pakenham and Sandringham train lines and get off at Richmond Station. The studio is a 15 minute walk from Richmond Station, however you can take a connecting tram (see above) to make this walk a bit quicker.
