About this Course

Explore a range of art materials and techniques to gain a broad understanding of the different mediums you can use to create art.

During this course, you will be introduced to different mediums and demonstrate techniques which you will be able to practice in the course.

You will explore the following mediums, including brushes, paper, canvases and associated artists’ tools:

• Drawing – pencil / charcoal / conte /chalk / graphite
• Pastels – dry / oil
• Watercolour / inks / gouache
• Acrylic paint
• Oils (overview)

Your instructor will offer you tips during the course and you will have the opportunity to ask her any questions about particular mediums in which you are interested, including the right brands to purchase for you. You will also have the opportunity to discuss future artistic projects you plan to undertake, and which mediums would be suitable..

We welcome complete beginners and more experienced artists who need a day to reconnect with materials. We maintain small class sizes to ensure we can offer one-on-one tuition for each student.
