Portraiture Drawing short course will focus on the fundamentals of portraiture drawing through cast drawing and drawing from a portraiture life model. You will be introduced to various strategies and techniques for drawing the face. This course will assist beginner and intermediate artists in developing fundamental drawing techniques.

  • Location: MAC Glenferrie Studio  | Level 1, 817B Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn

 

You will focus on drawing the face through cast drawing and life drawing, with two sessions working from plaster casts and other references while three sessions are conducted with various life models (dressed). This course will assist beginner and intermediate artists in developing fundamental portraiture drawing techniques.

The classes are limited to ensure one-on-one tuition.

This course will be taught by experienced artist and teacher Michelle Zuccolo. Michelle is a winner of the prestigious Rick Amor Self Portrait Prize. She has also been a finalist in the British Portrait Award, London, Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Portia Geach Memorial Award, 2020 Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize and Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize. Her drawings have been included in the Rick Amor Drawing Award, the 7th Drawing Biennale, Drill Hall, ANU, Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing and Mornington Peninsula Spring Drawing Festivals.

Michelle has a MA (Visual Arts) from the University of Ballarat, a BA (Fine Art) from Victoria College of Art and Design and a DipEd from Melbourne College of Advanced Education. Michelle has over twenty-five years teaching experience at various levels of education including secondary schooling, tertiary levels and in community art programs.
