5 Week Short Course
Melbourne Art Class welcomes leading Australian contemporary abstract artist Samara Adamson-Pinczewski to conduct this Introduction to Abstraction Short Course, solely dedicated to abstract art practice.
This course introduces the key elements and techniques of abstraction and will help beginner students, and artists who would like to revisit the fundamentals of abstraction. Samara will provide a historical and theoretical context for abstraction as you progress through the sessions.
A wide range of mediums are available, including drawing and painting in acrylics.
The course will explore the following:

Samara Adamson-Pinczewski abstract geometric work has featured in more than 90 exhibitions and she has participated in several international residencies. Her work can be found in major private and public collections throughout Australia. Adamson-Pinczewski is represented by Charles Nodrum gallery. Her paintings and sculptures explore the experience of architecture and urban space.

Take a deep dive into the landscape and the classical techniques used by contemporary painter Sam Leach. He will lead you though the fundamentals of Grisaille, and demonstrate how artists such as Da Vinci, Titian, Vermeer and Rembrandt created such memorable work. A great course for beginners and those that are wanting to improve their painting.

This is an introduction to watercolour and gouache short course taught by Catalina Leichner, Argentinian artist and Art Conservator who specialises in watercolour illustration.
Catalina will introduce students to key foundational techniques for using gouache and watercolour media. Catalina will offer personalised assistance informed by the participants individual illustration goals.

Portraiture Drawing with Michelle Zuccolo short course will focus on the fundamentals of portraiture drawing through cast drawing and drawing from a portraiture life model. You will be introduced to various strategies and techniques for drawing the face by an award-winning portraiture artist. This course will assist beginner and intermediate artists in developing fundamental drawing techniques.
