Ages: Suitable for children in school grades 5 to 8

These are specialised courses in painting and drawing for children in school grades 5 to 8. They are ongoing courses which focus on the development of foundational techniques for painting and drawing, combined with a mentoring style support for children producing their own artwork. Participants can work in the drawing or painting media of their choice. Teachers will also work with parents and guardians to find the right balance of technical/ creative for their child.

The courses take Melbourne Art Class’s focus on fundamental skills and create a program suitable for the age group. You can see artwork produced in previous classes here.

We also offer classes for children in School Grades 3 to 5 and 5 to 7 and Early Teens 6-10, and Teen’s in School Grades 8-12.
