Drawing Techniques and Fundamentals with Marco Corsini

Level: Beginner / Intermediate

A workshop guided by Melbourne Art Class’s Founder and Director, Marco Corsini, building from his extensive experience to reshape your approach to drawing and perception. You’ll delve into fundamental techniques and tools, refining your drawing skills under the guidance of this experienced tutor. The course starts with structural drawing and progresses through to working with tone, light and shadow.

We provide essential materials, including charcoal, paper, and easels. However, if you have preferred tools, feel free to bring them along.

Whether you’re just commencing your artistic journey or seeking to revisit and strengthen your drawing fundamentals, this workshop is open to all. We limit the class size to ensure personalised instruction, fostering an environment where you can receive individualised guidance and support. Join us and elevate your drawing skills in this transformative and immersive workshop designed to nurture your artistic talents.

About Marco

Marco Corsini (B.Ed. MCA UniMelb/VCA) is a landscape and figure painter and the founder of Melbourne Art Class. He has exhibited in both Australia and Europe. He has been a finalist in several awards including the Rick Amor Drawing Prize. He was the Chief judge for the 2021 Camberwell Art Prize. He has taught in the Victorian school system and is engaged to regularly teach in schools. Marco has run workshops and creative programs for companies such as the Coles group, Officeworks and Google Europe, Asia and America.

The program is a studio-based class that mixes personalised tuition with a program of short presentations. A wide range of mediums are available, including drawing and painting in both oils and acrylics. It would be suitable for anyone who is interested in a class that develops observational skills and fundamental artistic skills while maintaining a degree of flexibility for creativity.
