Children’s Foundational Drawing Workshop

A great opportunity for children in grades 3 to 6 to be introduced to observational drawing techniques, with a focus on understanding the perception of a three-dimensional world.

Observational drawing is a core skill in art education and practice. It helps develop a child’s ability to truly see, encouraging them to notice relationships between forms, changes in light, and how space works in three dimensions.

This workshop will support students in building accuracy, confidence, and a deeper understanding of form and structure.

This workshop will be taught by experienced artist and teacher, Anna Parry.

Anna is an experienced art educator, having worked in both Primary and Secondary schools. She holds a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art and a Graduate Diploma of Education as well as a Master’s of Fine Art. She is a practising artist specialising in botanical watercolour painting and has been represented in exhibitions such as The Art of Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne. Anna also works as a freelance artist and illustrator and has been awarded several prizes and scholarships, including the Galloway Lawson Acquisitive Prize for Painting.
