In this comprehensive course, you’ll master the art of shaping form, light, and shadow using the classic grisaille method and then progress to the use of glazing to achieve vibrant, luminous colours.

You will be concentrating on the Landscape,  so students are encouraged to bring in a landscape photograph to work from. Or we can print out your digital image in class.

These foundational painting techniques have left an indelible mark on the art world for centuries. ‘Foundational Painting: Grisaille to Glazing Landscapes’ offers a unique opportunity to elevate your painting skills to new heights, following in the footsteps of the great masters.
