(Art students aged 15 – 17 may be able to attend, please contact to discuss suitability)

This course introduces the key elements and techniques of observational drawing and will help beginner students, and artists who would like to revisit the fundamentals.

During this course, you will explore line, tone, proportion and value and discover effective ways to see and use these elements in a drawing. Students will work from Still life subjects examining a variety of approaches and drawing techniques.

Observational drawing is fundamental to any artistic practice. It is a long-standing artistic tradition that focuses on capturing what the eye sees in real life, rather than relying on memory or imagination. Practiced by artists for centuries, it trains both technical skill and perceptual awareness.

All materials are included. Classes places are limited to ensure one-on-one tuition.
