This course is designed for children in grades 3 to 5 who have an interest in improving their drawing and painting skills. It’s an ongoing program focused on teaching the essential techniques for both drawing and painting while offering supportive guidance for kids to create their own artwork.
Participants have the freedom to choose whether they want to concentrate on drawing or painting. The teachers also collaborate with parents and guardians to tailor the learning experience, finding the right mix of technical skill-building and creative expression for each child.
The aim here is to help children grasp the key aspects of drawing and painting while fostering their individual creativity. It’s a structured yet flexible way for kids to enhance their artistic abilities while enjoying the process of creating their own unique art pieces.
The painting and drawing for children in school grades 3 to 5 course takes Melbourne Art Class’s focus on fundamental skills and creates a program suitable for the age group. You can see artwork produced in previous classes here.
Enrolments are capped at ten children. For these children’s classes, teachers generally works with the aid of an assistant. Courses run by the term. To find out more about this course or to discuss your children’s suitability please contact us through the contact page.
We also offer classes for children in School Grades 5 to 7 and 6 to 8, Early Teens 6 – 10, and Teen’s in School Grades 8-12.

We aim to nurture our students’ natural artistic ability and interests, whilst also teaching the fundamentals of art practice.
