Studying the manner in which great artists of the past created their art, can unlock key lessons for children. Therefore at MAC, we regularly look to artists to learn key aspects of making art.

To create his paper cut-outs, Henri Matisse needed a strong sense of composition and colour theory, allowing him to balance bold shapes and vibrant hues with precision.

During this workshop children will explore the paper cut-out work of Matisse and emulate the new and innovative technique he called “drawing with scissors”.

This workshop will be taught by experienced Artist and Teacher Camila Quintero. Camila Quintero (MA in Fine Arts from RMIT Australia, BA in Fine Arts from Universidad Nacional Colombia) specialises in painting and drawing.
