Children’s Watercolour and Illustration Workshop: Dragons & Faeries

Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Ages: This workshop is suitable for children school grades 5-8

 

Upcoming Workshops:

Rachael will take students in school grades 5 to 8 through the fundamentals of sketching, watercolour painting and illustration, before supporting students in creating their own Creature artwork.

The workshop focuses on the development of key foundational techniques for illustration and watercolour, while also fostering imagination and creativity, by encouraging the visualising of long extinct animals. Children will be guided and supported whilst creating their own artworks in this Children’s Watercolour and Illustration Workshop: Dragons & Faeries.

Suitable for all skill levels, this class is a good balance of the technical and creative. Rachael strives to help build creative confidence and technical ability. Places will be limited to ensure Racheal can offer one-on-one tuition for each student.

Rachael Hammond is an illustrator, artist, and graphic designer with over 20 years’ experience. She specialises in digital illustration as well as watercolour, coloured pencil, and graphite media. Her art focuses on wildlife, botanical, and natural history.
Rachael has created work for both private commissions and commercial applications (logos, printing and online, magazine and book publications, and signage).

The program is a studio-based class that mixes personalised tuition with a program of short presentations. A wide range of mediums are available, including drawing and painting in both oils and acrylics. It would be suitable for anyone who is interested in a class that develops observational skills and fundamental artistic skills while maintaining a degree of flexibility for creativity.
