Leading Australian contemporary abstract artist Samara Adamson-Pinczewski will present this specialist abstraction short course. During, Abstraction: Colour Shape and Line through Kandinsky and Klee, you will explore how through careful pictorial arrangement, colour can suggest mood, line can create movement and energy, and shape can establish balance, tension, or harmony within a composition.

In these classes you have the freedom to work on your own projects, or our Still Life display with guidance from an experienced teacher and professional artist. During the term, we sometimes have mini-lectures on a particular art movement, genre or technique. We welcome all skills levels, from complete beginners, to experienced artists who need a space and dedicated time to create.

Melbourne Art Class welcomes award-winning sumi-e (Japanese Ink) artist, Junko Azukawa to host a three hour Hanko Seal Carving workshop. Lovers of traditional Japanese art will be familiar with the red stamp or seal often seen on paintings or documents. This seal is used in place of a signature and forms an important part of traditional Japanese culture.

Following on from her Introductory workshops, Melbourne Art Class welcomes award-winning sumi-e (Japanese Ink) artist, Junko Azukawa to host a 2 hour Japanese ink painting workshop.

Melbourne Art Class offers private artist coaching and mentoring for those with a busy schedule, or who want to work outside of our scheduled classes in a one-on-one environment. For remote or international students, these sessions can be undertaken using Zoom.
This is a specialised course in painting and drawing which focuses on the development of foundational techniques, combined with a mentoring style support for children producing their own artwork. These classes are for students who are interested in creating outside of regular school hours and would like to further develop their artistic skills. We aim to nurture our students’ natural artistic ability and interests, whilst also teaching the fundamentals of art practice.
