Children’s Australian Animals Watercolour and Gouache Workshop
An illustration and watercolour workshop with an ‘Australian Animals’ theme, designed for school children in Grades 3 to 8 and taught by Olivia York. Olivia is a Melbourne-based artist and illustrator who specialises in watercolour and Australiana illustration.
The workshop focuses on the development of key foundational techniques for gouache and watercolour. The children will be guided and supported whilst creating their own Australian Animal characters. Suitable for all skill levels, this class is a good balance of the technical and creative. Olivia strives to help build creative confidence and technical ability.
Students will experiment with techniques that are discussed and demonstrated during class and will have the opportunity to use them in an artwork they create. Places will be limited to ensure Olivia can offer one-on-one tuition for each student.
Olivia York is a Melbourne-based artist, illustrator and Australiana enthusiast. She creates witty and whimsical watercolour illustrations, inspired by our Australian flora and fauna. Her illustrations have so far adorned food trucks, feature walls, childrens books, clothing, packaging and homewares.
Her products have been featured in several tv shows, books and magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, Frankie magazine and Koala (Thames & Hudson). Olivia has collaborated with such brands as House, Lalaland, Nutella and Auspost.
