Folio Development Days

We do not currently have any Folio Development Days scheduled. To view our current courses, please visit our homepage.

The Foundation and Folio Development days are designed to support students who wish to build a folio of art works or for students who want to enrich their existing folio and gain more experience and confidence in developing practical skills and critical thinking to inform their work.
The Days are structured to give students experience in various disciplines from still life drawing, life drawing (from an undressed model) along with basic painting knowledge and materials. While these disciplines have close relationships and are often used in interrelated ways, each involves different approaches to arts practices and critical and creative thinking.

Students can bring along their existing folios to receive feedback.

Classes are limited to 10 students.

The Days are tutored by Hilmi Baskurt. Hilmi earned a Fine Arts degree in painting and printmaking along with Art history and theory from University of East London and also a Master of Fine Art degree in painting from Royal Academy of Arts. A former student of iconic British painter Frank Auerbach, Hilmi specialises in oil painting and printmaking. His Masters’ thesis was on the subject of Composition in Modern Art. Hilmi has exhibited and taught in both Australia and the UK, also having worked in commercial galleries and as a curator.
